Ice cream. One of my favorite things! Here are 4 ice cream recommendations in Minneapolis.
Sebastian Joe’s
Why I like it: The Oreo Flavor
Sebastian Joe’s is by far one of my favorite ice cream places because of one single flavor – Oreo. The creaminess is so good! On my way over to this ice cream shop, I always have a slight thought that runs in my head around the lines of โshould I switch it up today?โ But as soon as I walk in, any ounce of doubt disappears and I end up with โone scoop of Oreo in a cup please.โ
There are two locations in the Minneapolis neighborhoods – Uptown and Linden Hills. I have frequented both and the environment is different. Uptown is more coffee-like with a large area in the back to enjoy your ice cream. Great for in the winter when you still crave ice cream, but need a warm and cozy place to enjoy it. And yes, all true ice cream lovers will understand that ice cream is a year round food even in the negative temperatures. Linden Hills is much smaller with outdoor patio seating + a flexible space that can accommodate indoor/outdoor with retractable walls. This is a great place to enjoy your ice cream in the summer outside and listen to live music on Wednesday evenings.

Sweet Science
Why I like it: The quality of Ice Cream
I first heard of Sweet Science when I was shopping at Coastal Seafoods, picking up ingredients to make homemade sushi. Of course, I needed to end the night with ice cream, so I went and looked at their selection and the option was Salted Caramel from Sweet Science. With a fun periodic table logo on it, I immediately put it into my basket and walked to the register. When it was time to have my first bite of the ice cream that evening, I took a moment to register how good it was; The salted caramel was very strong. I quickly searched up locations of Sweet Science ice cream shops, found one in Edina, and made sure that was going to be my next ice cream adventure.
The location is a small shop in the center of 50th and France in Edina. Itโs a great location to enjoy ice cream after a day of shopping or an evening at one of the restaurants. There is a large periodic table on the wall with all of the flavor options. My go-to is vanilla mint. Once you get your ice cream, walk outside to enjoy it in the public sitting area or take it to go as you finish walking around the area.

Bebe Zito
Why I like it: The Fun Flavors
Bebe Zito is located in Uptown and if youโre looking for fun flavors, this is it. When I was living in Uptown, I frequented here a lot. I never knew what I was going to order when I walked in as I had to look for myself and carefully read the descriptions of each flavor in order to make a decision. The flavors are fun, but they are not so unique that you are skeptical if they will be good or not. A good idea is to get a split scoop in order to try two flavors. Bebe Zito can also be found at The Market At Malcolm Yards and Eat Street Food Hall.

Treats
Why I like it: Unique
You do have to cross the river to St. Paul for this one… but it’s worth it! When I first heard about Treats, I will admit that I was skeptical. It mixes cereal and ice creamโฆweird right? Well, it works. The ice cream is soft served and blended with the cereal of your choosing. There is also a photo opportunity with a neon sign to persuade you even more. I doubt you are currently putting cereal on your ice cream at home (maybe Iโm wrong and I missed the memo) so this is a unique experience, that is really tasty at the same time.
