How Much Does a Trip to Patagonia Cost? (Real Cost Breakdown)

When helping people plan trips to Patagonia, one of the most common questions I get is how much does a trip to Patagonia actually cost?

The most helpful way to answer that is by breaking down exactly what I spent on my own trip to Patagonia. I know how hard it can be to find realistic, transparent cost breakdowns, so I wanted to share a full look at what this trip could actually cost.

Use this as a guide when planning your own trip, but keep in mind that accommodations and food choices are where your budget can vary the most.

Here is a link to my full Patagonia itinerary blog post so you can see exactly what this budget includes.

The Highlights:

  • Trip Length: 13 days
  • Time: December 2025 (Peak Season)
  • Destinations: Puerto Natales, W-Trek, Calafate, El Chaltén, Buenos Aires
  • Activities: Hiking, Eating, Glacier Trekking
  • Travel Style: Mid-range (mix of fun Patagonia experiences and comfortable stays)

Accommodation

I booked all of my accommodations through Booking.com, and some of the links are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you if you make a booking. All of these places I stayed at, and I genuinely recommend them!

Final Thoughts

Patagonia is not always a cheap destination, but it is definitely worth it!

Between hiking the W-Trek, seeing Perito Moreno Glacier up close, and exploring El Chaltén, this was one of the most unforgettable trips I have taken.
