Southeast Asia will always hold a special place in my heart. I first fell in love with this part of the world when I studied abroad in Thailand, which was an experience that completely changed the way my passion for travel grew. After my program ended, I was not ready to leave just yet, so I packed a backpack and set off on a solo trip through more of the region (you can read about that adventure here). Then I still did not get enough, so I convinced my friend to join me the very next year for another trip!
So needless to say… I LOVE Southeast Asia. The culture, the people, the food, the easy travel between countries, the affordability, and the adventures all make it truly one of my favorite regions in the world.

Tips for Planning Your Southeast Asia Itinerary Route
- Do not try to see everything. This is always hard for me, but it is better to fully experience each place instead of spending the whole time traveling from place to place.
- Fly strategically. Make sure to look at multi-city flights (in way city, out another city).
- Build in rest days. Long bus days, hot weather, and early tours add up.
- Stay flexible. Some of the best adventures happen last-minute and unexpectedly!
