Language

There are four official languages in Singapore. These include English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil.

Currency

The currency in Singapore is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). This symbol is often $ or S$.

Singapore is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, so prices throughout are expensive. Expect to pay similar amounts to a large American or European City.

Major credit and debit cards are widely accepted in Singapore, however, carrying cash is always a good idea for food stalls and small purchases.

The MRT system is the best way to get around Singapore, and it is so easy to use. You can purchase tickets at the station or there are passes available to purchase that provide unlimited rides for a set duration of time.

Since Singapore is a large city, you will not be able to explore everything by foot. However, once you arrive in your desired neighborhood walking is easy and the best option to explore a specific area.

Taxi

Grab is an app-based car service and is another good option to get around. Taxis can be expensive, so Grab is the cheaper option and is easy to use.
